Personality: Auru is a particularly hard pup to figure out. At some times she is snappy and ill-tempered, other times shes one of the happiest dogs around. Generally, she is very quiet and reserved, often avoiding others even of her own pack. Accepting but not entirely trusting, Auru has put a wall around her heart to avoid becoming hurt again by letting others come to close to it. Kind and considerate, she tries her best not appear anything she isn't and treat others fairly and with love. Often, she has a maternal side that comes out and she can't help but care for others, though that won't withhold her from giving anyone who deserves it a tongue lashing. She has a strong silence of the sorts and wears that aurora with pride and demands a degree of respect because she knows her pack family knows her. Anyone else doesn't need to. Though shy and not a fan of violence, Auru will not hesitate to throw herself into a battle, even if its not her own, prepared to lay down her life for any innocent being that is in danger. Auru is young still but her knowledge of humans and life is great and growing, she has no problem with giving advice to those who ask of it. A deep thinker as well, Auru tends to spend alot of her time reflecting on her past and reading into other's actions and words in an attempt to figure out why some act the way they do. Her hope is to become as asset to her pack, though she isn't dreadfully ambitious to climb up the ranks, Auru wants to make a difference, bringing a little light of hope to this dark world.

Physical Description: As an Australian Shepherd, Auru has the long coat and slender body type attributed to her kind. As a long-time escapee, that long coat has become matted with lack of care and her figure is practically skin on bone. Mostly a solid black, this female has marks of a chocolate brown on over her eyes, muzzle, tail and legs. Her underside is as white as the snow and just a spot is under her chin and striped on her forehead, her paws also are white. Her ears are small and flopped over, helping with her mournful expression. Deep brown eyes stare at the world enveloped in gray, no color exsisting before her. Her bushy tail has a tendency to curl over her back to avoid catching any of the filth her paws track upon and her black pads are worn and cracked from walking upon the city streets littered with suffering and disease. Her left leg is marred with red scars, evidence of a past fight that led her to her pack, and a slight limp betrays her when the old wound is acting up.

History: Auru was born a stray but abandoned by her mother, left to die in the filthy alley way. It was only by the kindness of an old man that she was saved and made to live another day. The old man raised Auru as a house pet and she lived a calm and plentiful life until the day of disaster.

That fateful day, she and the old man were sitting on their worn couch inside of their little house, the man carrying on conversation about just how bad things had gotten in the world. Then they came in. With metal chains the feared humans stormed in and took the old man. Auru tried her best to free him but then the men came after her. She was not willing to leave her companion behind, but the man kept shouting at her, kicking at her whenever she came near. In the years she had known him, she reconized that word: Go.

So she went, reluctantly, slipping by the feared men and out into the cold world where a rainstorm was letting its fury loose. Pushing through the blinding rain, Auru eventually made it far enough that she felt she was safe. No sooner had a larger, more desperate dog came along and at her. Unable to get by, Auru had no choice but to fight, so fight she did. It didn't last long since the dog got ahold of her leg and bit down with bonecrushing force. With a last strain of effort, she yanked herself free, ripping open her leg with the dogs teeth just to get free. Then off she was again, wounded and broken, running into the unknown with the only certainty being that she lost her only friend and was ordered...to go.

From then on she was a stray, unwanted, an escapee of the past she loved. Not knowing how to hunt or care for herself, her fur became tattered and her skin clung to her bones. Eventually, she found the pack she now resides in, taken in and fixed up. Her leg healed but left the deep, bare scars on her legs, and her dreams are haunted by a past she couldn't change. Now she looks to the future, hoping to change the present with kindness and warmth for a future that holds a promise of peace.[/blockquote][/size]
