New Beginnings (Ahanu x Matisse plot part 1)

Matisse heard the tom's yelp, and instantly she turned towards him, thinking something was wrong. She sighed in relief realizing he was alright and got the prey. She silently counted the number of groundhogs they caught in her head. "We've got five groundhogs so far, you think that's enough?" the she-cat asked the tom.

"For a normal two days of hunting no, for being stuck in a storm with a stranger I guess it's alright. Better get these with the others" The tom picked up his two kills awkwardly and began to scramble up the tunnel.

Matisse followed the tom out of the tunnel an into the first one. She realized that the snow had stopped falling. "I guess you can go back home to your clan...."
Just the word home hurt her a little inside. It was something she missed, something she wanted, but something she dreaded going back too. Could I ever have another home again? the question filled her brain, giving her much to think about.

Ahanu nodded, "yeah I guess.." For some reason the tom felt reluctant to part with the female. He picked up as many of the ground hogs as he could carry and dropped them out of the den. Cold snow covered the ground and made him shiver. It was going to be fun trying to manage all this back to camp. Trying to make their parting longer he got a sudden idea, "You know it's probably been a few days since you've eaten. And you did help with the hunt. Why don't you take one of these for yourself?"

"Oh, thank you." the feline replied. She didn't really want to go. During her whole life, the only other cat that seemed to put up with her was her old mate. Matisse wanted to stay with this tom, but that didn't seem likely. Before picking up the groundhog carcass with her mouth, she told Ahanu "You know, we should meet up again.".

Ahuna's ears twitched at the idea given by the female. "I think I'd enjoy that." he said with a warm smile. He never even thought of the possibility of seeing this female again, why hadn't he? It was so obvious. He touched he nose briefly to the Matisse's, "Well meet tomorrow. At the same tree we met at. When the sun is high above the earth. I'll be hunting by then." And without giving her a chance to decline he awkwardly managed to grip all the ground hogs at once and take off towards his camp.

Though neither cat was aware that Ahanu had been spotted giving the female some prey, and he would soon face the wrath of his eldest brother, the leader.

(the nose touching supposed to be like a way of saying goodbye to a friend. And then if my writing ain't as good as usually it's cause of the lack of practice lol)

Matisse smiled back at the tom. As they touched noses, the she-cat felt a shiver run up her spine. She knew it was just a common sign of friendship, but still the direct contact made her face heat up. The more she thought about him, the more she realized Ahanu was pretty cute. "Okay, sounds good!" she responded. "See you later, baldy." She added with a smirk set across her face, before heading off in the other direction.
